With a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics and a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from the University of Guelph, Clayton’s research focused on virology, studying the viruses that affect grapevines. This scientific background instilled in him a rigorous, problem-solving mindset—one that values facts, collaboration, and long-term thinking over short-term political fixes.

He has played a key role in scaling two biotech startups, working alongside scientists, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to transform cutting-edge research into real-world solutions. His experience navigating the intersection of science, business, and communications has given him a deep understanding of how to foster economic growth, support local industries, and the importance of good-paying jobs right here in Ontario.
A proud resident of Uptown Waterloo, Clayton has seen firsthand how Doug Ford’s government has made life harder—from skyrocketing housing costs to underfunded public transit and crumbling healthcare.
